How Does FastLane Technology Work?

When you configure the FastLane Technology, you will get facilitated with two options:

  • Connect your 2.4GHz supported router to the extender using the 2.4GHz band and 5GHz supported WiFi-enabled devices using the 5GHz band.

  • Connect your 2.4GHz supported router to the extender using the 5GHz band and 2.4GHz supported WiFi-enabled devices using the 5GHz band.

You can choose any option at your convenience. However, it is advised not to enable the FastLane Technology feature if your host router supports the 2.4GHz frequency and WiFi-enabled devices support the 5GHz frequency.

Steps to Configure FastLane Technology on Extender

  1. Open a Web Browser

First of all, open a web browser on your WiFi-enabled device. Ensure that you are having access to a blazing-fast internet connection. Keep in mind that the web browser you have chosen to enable the FastLane Technology on your Netgear extender is running on its updated version. Otherwise, it might create trouble while accessing the mywifiext.net login page.

Also, ensure that the web browser currently in use is not having junk cache, cookies, and browsing history. If yes, clean it first.

  1. Access the Netgear Extender Login Page

After updating the web browser and clearing its cache, the next step is to access the Netgear extender login page. Therefore, go to the address bar of the web browser and type the Netgear extender’s default web address. Be careful while typing the web address as a typo might make you land on the website you dont want to.

Press the Enter key after typing the web address and wait for the Netgear extender login page to appear on the screen.

By default, the Internet Surfing radio button is checked. So, you need to select the FastLane Technology radio button. As soon as you select the button, you will see two options before your eyes.

  1. Device-to-Netgear extender in the 5GHz frequency band only and Netgear extender-to-router in the 2.4GHz frequency band only.

  1. Device-to-Netgear extender in the 2.4GHz frequency band only and Netgear extender-to-router in the 5GHz frequency band only.

Select the most appropriate option as per your requirement and click the Save button. The FastLane Technology will get configured on your device. Now, you will be able to enjoy a speedy internet connection as the Netgear extender will operate on the dedicated frequency bands. However, you need to reconnect your client devices to the extender’s WiFi network after configuring the FastLane Technology.
