Buying a house in FFXIV is going to take a lot of investment.
When it comes to aspects of the popular MMORPG in which you can invest your FFXIV gil, there’s certainly a number of options for us to go with. One certain feature that we can enjoy with our investments is housing.
The concept of housing is something that is prominent in a number of games in the genre. As the years have gone by, we have seen an evolution of the feature, with more and more being introduced to give you a real sense of belonging within your chosen game. FFXIV gives us a couple of options to go with as far as buying houses goes. You can either invest by going to buy FFXIV gil and start building up your house from a plot, or team up with your free company to make a HQ of sorts.
Getting Your House
To start off, we are going to have to get some land so that we can build our house. There is only a limited amount of plots that we can choose from, and when you take into account the amount of players that are looking to have their own place, it can be tough to do. With that in mind, you’re going to have to check to see if there are any plots on the market that you can buy. You may find that you’ll be waiting around a while if you do want to purchase a plot for yourself.
As for the prices, they range from anywhere between 3,000,000 and 50,000,000 gil. You will have probably noticed by now that getting your own house in the game is no easy feat, as you have to take under consideration not only the luck factor of actually getting your own plot, but also the high cost that comes with them.
Sure, you are going to be naturally progressing through the game anyway earning as much currency as possible. However, the problem is that following the main quests isn’t going to get you enough gil to be able to afford the house that you’re looking for. Plus, there’s other requirements that you need to meet, such as your character being level 50 within at least one of the game’s classes. Buying a house requires you to get a parcel to get the land, and you will have a period of 45 days to use it to get your land. Otherwise, you will see the land being returned to the game for other players to be able to purchase.
Once you finally have your land, you need to buy a construction permit as well. The size of your house will determine the cost of the permit, but it usually costs less than the land that you have paid for. Getting a permit won’t require you to wait around to buy it either, so as far as that’s concerned it’s much simpler to get one.
Now that you have your permit, you can start working on getting your home into the shape you want it to be. Decorating options and furnishings are now available to you, but you still might be finding the whole process a bit difficult. If that’s the case, then you may want to opt for getting an apartment instead. Doing so will give you a bit more freedom as well, and they cost less as well. You can have one apartment for each character, and it will stay assigned to your character even when your FFXIV account isn’t being used. The opportunity to have a shared chocobo stable is also an added bonus.
The most freedom however will come from building your own home. As you can see, that requires a lot of investment on your part. The opportunities are aplenty when you decide to build your own home, though you may want to consider finding somewhere to buy FFXIV gil if you do wish to get the very most out of it.
Leaving Your Plot
Following a period of 30 days inactivity, you will receive a message to say that your estate is going to be demolished. You can stop this from happening by simply entering the house, and if it’s a private home then you will need to be the owner to stop it. With free company houses, you only need a member of the company to go into the house to prevent it being torn down. If it does get demolished, you will receive 80% of the land value, and any furniture that you used which you can now either sell or use elsewhere.
So once you have enough FFXIV gil to fund your new house, you’ll be ready to invest in the property of your dreams. There is a lot of time and money to invest in this activity, but it’s worth noting that it isn’t mandatory.
